International Beauty Institute Orange recognizes qualifications and Statements of Attainment from another RTO when the student follows the RPL process and presents the necessary, appropriate qualification documentation.
The following is a list of procedures for RPL :-
- On commencement of certificate the student is briefed by training organization on assessment requirements and any special needs of the student are identified.
- Student gathers evidence for competence for each unit of competency.
- Assessor carries out assessment following review of evidence provided.
- Assessor provides feedback to student and identifies any gaps.
- Student contacts school by telephone, fax, email or on-line.
- Student is sent current prospectus and fact sheets detailing information on the college, fee structure and refund policy.
- Students who wish to enroll in a Certificate IV or above will need to participate kin an interview. Students will be notified at this time by the PEO of their acceptance
- Students enrolling in CIII or below can proceed direct to enrolment
- Student completes enrolment form.
- On receipt of enrolment fee (if applicable) student is issued receipt.
- Student is given an identification number and a database record is established.
- A familiarization evening is set with students from previous year as well as new students in attendance.
- Orientation is carried out at first class.

Students interested in seeking the Study Allowance with Austudy/Abstudy will need to obtain Forms and submit their Applications to their nearest Centre link Office. Course name with accredited course numbers, your Student number and time (hours) of course is essential in your application; Please notify college if you require forms and hours of courses.
Please note the College can not give you a form for Austudy/Abstudy until you have enrolled and paid the required deposit.
The training we deliver is competency based training by both practical and theoretical applications. Theory assessments will be conducted at the end of each subject delivered to assess your understanding. The Institute delivers training and assessment through competency based training, students will undertake assessments on the ability to perform to a high industry benchmark set by both National and International standards.
Assessments may be conducted in the following;
- Multiple Choice Questions
- Holistic Assessment - written knowledge tests, scenario's, observations.
Students will be given at least 2 weeks notice prior to an examination date.
Once students have been accepted and enrolled into a certificate IV or higher course, the college will contact the student informing them of a date to attend orientation where students will be issued with their uniforms, textbooks etc. Students will be required to try on uniforms prior to orientation as a good fitting uniform is essential.
Attendance at all course activities are compulsory. Absenteeism must be reported before the commencement of class each day of non attendance. A doctors certificate is required for non attendance for 2 or more days and for non attendance on examination days.
IBI reserves the right to expel or suspend a student to its discretion. Incidents leading to expulsion include but are not limited to; cheating, theft, possession of illegal substances, under the influence of drugs/alcohol whilst on college premises, inappropriate behaviour, violence towards other students/teachers and harassment.
In the case of irreconcilable disputes, intervention by the Justice Centre will be sought.
Students will be required to record services provided in the student clinic to provide evidence for the Advanced Association of Beauty Therapists.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & CONSIDERATIONS
A recognised First Aid Qualification is a prerequisite for all Courses to be undertaken. Please see Course Fact Sheet.
If a First Aid Certificate has not been completed, it must be completed during the First three (3) months from commencement of training. This can be organised for you on request, A fee of $170 applies in this instance.
If you have completed your first aid certificate it must be still current (check expiry date) and to a senior first aid level. If your certificate meets these requirements you must provide the college of a copy before we can exempt you from the first aid training.
Fees must be paid by the 15th day of each month. Overdue fees will accrue a 10% surcharge per month. Non payment of fees will result in suspension. No qualifications will be issued whilst fees are outstanding.
IBI is responsible for protecting course fees paid in advance. Fees paid in advance are held in a separate account in trust until tuition has been delivered.
- Enrolment fee is non refundable unless the Institute cancels a class
- If the course offered is cancelled by the Institute all monies paid will be refunded.
- Before classes commence, students wishing to withdraw from studies and gives 28 days or more written notification before course commencement date, all prepaid course fees paid will be refunded less enrolment fee and monies for textbooks, kits and uniform.
- If a student withdraws from a course less than 28 days prior to commencement date, no refunds will be given
- Exceptions may be made to the above condition on compassionate medical grounds and only when confirmed by a medical authority.
- If a student withdraws from a course at anytime after the commencement date of the course students will be liable for 75% off course tuition fees.
- Costs for kits, uniforms, texts are non refundable unless the Institute cancels a class.
- Notice of cancellation must be made in writing directly to the Institute. For more information please refer to terms and conditions within enrolment application.

International Beauty Institute offers credit transfer by recognising qualifications provided by other Registered Training Organisations. Issued as per AQTF.

Failure to notify IBI of non attendance will result in a written warning and a possible suspension for desertion. In the case of sever hardship or prolonged illness, students must contact the college Principal Executive Officer..
For AABTh & Itec requirements, any hours students have missed must be made up within 2 weeks of returning to college. Exams missed must be completed as soon as students have returned to college .Non attendance may result in a non competence for units in some instances when student fails to meet the assessment criteria.
- Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing students need to refer to the Apprenticeship & Traineeship Act 2003.
- Equivalent Year 10 Certificate.
- Students should be able to exhibit a strong desire to study in their chosen vocation and a reasonable level of maturity.
- Students must have had their 3rd Hepatitis B Vaccination before graduation of a course. This is necessary in the industry due to working proximity with clients.

PROTECTION OF COURSE FEES
Most courses are available Full time, Part time Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing is offered every 2 years only. Courses may also be subject to semester intakes. Please refer to course fact sheets or contact the college for course availability. In some cases not all course intakes will commence due to lack of student enrolments. If applicants can not start their chosen course, the college may be able to offer an alternative until the next intake.
